Goldfish is an upcoming narrative feature film. The film follows Daniel, a young queer person who no longer has a grip on his own identity or sense of self. He begins to cope by creating elaborate characters that he puts on for strangers, but the thrill begins to weaken as he escalates into lying to his friends, family, and partner.
This character study combines the independent gay filmmaking of Gregg Araki & John Waters, the narrative style of Paul Schrader & Tsai Ming-Liang, and the punk tomfoolery of Bad Grandpa & the Jackass films to create a narrative and feeling all its own.
Written, Directed, Photographed, & Edited by Bryce Dorand
Produced by Wolfe Lanier & Jordan Williams.
Starring Reid Williams & Nicholas Javon.
Costumed by Tess Dufrene
Camera Operated by Elias Bullock-Moreno
Expected to be released Fall 2024.
